Title: Director, Strategic Planning Organization: Strategic Planning, Office of the VP
Qualifications: Office of the Vice President, Strategic Planning is looking to hire a Director to join its Corporate Strategy group. Candidate will ensure implementation of Company safety, health and environmental programs for employees whose work is directed. Ensures that safe practices are followed and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and governmental regulations. Bachelor's degree required. MBA preferred. Minimum of ten years work experience in Acquisition and /or divestitures. Investment Banking or consulting experience preferred with an advanced analytical and communication skill set. Business development experience involving business case development and incubation of new business development opportunities. Industry experience in regulated gas/electric Utilities, gas or electric transmission or generation planning knowledge and experience. Deep understanding of business evaluation and valuation. Good potential for business leadership. Experienced at developing senior management level presentations.
Responsibilities: Support an ongoing dialog between the senior management team and the Board. Manage a Corporate Strategy process. Facilitate the development of a top-down corporate strategy document for communication within Company; develop in conjunction with each business unit a documented strategy; develop in conjunction with each shared service and functional organization a documented strategy; ensure that there is an integration of strategies between functional, business units and corporate strategies. Monitor and analyze industry trends. Evaluate the business performance within the corporate portfolio of businesses as it relates to the strategic plan - Assess implications on capital allocation; recommend changes in incentives, goals and strategic plans to fit with industry trends and actual business performance. Conduct periodic strategic reviews of our businesses. M&A: Continuously assess the business landscape for M&A opportunities and issues affecting our M&A strategies. Monitor the valuation and business developments of potential transaction candidates. Coordinate M&A project management. Support/Lead business development and evaluate growth opportunities. Provide guidance to business units as requested on development or development strategies. Advise management on major project proposals by the business units. Act as a resource to enable cross-functional teams to address identified issues that affect a wide range of organizational within company. Must have a valid driver's license for travel as required
