Electrical Engineer (Intermediate)

To assist the Engineering Team in all project activities. You will be required to provide effective designs, surveys, feasibility reports, specifications, site supervision and management of electrical services installations.

Following health and safety, QA and environmental policies and procedures.
It is expected that the role entails acting in a professional manner at all times in keeping with an office environment.

Duties and responsibilities

*Support Principal Engineer in all project activities.
*Prepare Auto CAD drawings (AutoDesk) in accordance with company CAD standards.
*Prepare design calculations for cable sizing, lighting, etc. using industry recognised software such as Amtech, Relux.
*Assist in preparing/prepare reports such as feasibility studies, design reports, specifications and Contract administration.
*Follow Quality Assurance and Health and Safety procedures.
*Adhere to Company administration procedures and policies.
*Keep up to date with current standards and legislation, proactive approach expected.
*Attend site surveys with Senior/Principal Engineer.
*Attend meetings with Senior/Principal Engineer.
*Implementing technical standards.

INTERMEDIATE ELECTRICAL ENGINEER JOB DESCRIPTION

*Maintain standards of professional practice.
*Support business development.
*Prepared to travel and work flexible hours, particularly in the rail environment where some night working may be necessary.
*Attend site with Electrical engineers/electricians to gain on site experience.

Desired Skills and Experience

*Minimum HND/HNC (Electrical bias) - ideally Degree qualified (relevant).
*Proficient in Relux, Amtech, AutoCAD
*3+ years' experience ideally in Rail sector
*IT Literate - quick to familiarise with software applications.
*Key interest in industry.
*Excellent written, organisational and communication skills
*Ability to prioritise and organise own workload to meet deadlines
*Patience and the ability to deal with repetitive tasks
*Enthusiastic, flexible and committed.
*Confident presenter and problem solver.
*Able to undertake electrical designs from inception to completion.
*Interface with managers/admin staff.
*Full clean UK Driving Licence.

*Motivated to become CEng (Support provided).

Duration: Permanent

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 5.00pm (1 hours Lunch),
(We have rare occasions where we need to work late to get projects delivered, undertake surveys during engineering hours which may include nights and weekends.)
