An independent consulting firm in the greater Boston area that specializes in engineering & design is seeking a mid-level Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing office.

Key services include: Energy efficiency implementations, design-build, on-site generation (CHP), commissioning, & retro-commissioning.

Projects: Healthcare, Higher-Education, and Commercial & Industrial facilities.

Responsibilties

  • Develop Building Energy Models using eQUEST or related software.
  • Perform calculations to determine energy savings for various design and energy renovation strategies.
  • Perform field investigation of base building HVAC and lighting related equipment.
  • Design and calculate heating and cooling loads for building systems.
  • Prepare reports for clients to make recommendations.
  • Attend meetings & coordinate with project team and clients for current/future projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineer or related studies.
  • 2-7+ years of experience in working in energy efficiency, or energy focused design, of commercial and/or industrial facilties.
  • Experience in building energy modelling with eQuest or related software.
  • Experience commissioning new and existing facilities.
  • Experience with LEED and other green building standards.
  • Depth of knowledge of Building and Energy Codes.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
