Manager of Engineering - Wind Construction
Location: Chicago, IL
Great opportunity to be lead and provide direction for new facility construction strategies for utility scale wind farm development. The right candidate will have an electrical background in order to engineer, design and construct new energy facilities on wind farms. The manager will be setting the standards and procedures to have the best in class generating facilities.
The Manager of Engineering will develop the electrical, design and civil engineering criteria for the generating facilities, including substations and transmission lines.
Additional responsibilities include:
*Prepare supporting calculations, equipment specifications, engineering reports, diagrams and related data tables.
*Support of equipment procurement, construction and commissioning phases of project.
*Manage engineering contractors assigned to work on the design of renewable energy facilities, including definition of requirements and specifications, review of engineering drawings and RFI management.
*Lead engineering support to project managers in the design and engineering of roads, foundations, collection system and substations.
*Develop employees by identifying training and education to enhance growth and continued performance improvement.
Candidates should meet the following requirements:
*5 - 10 years' experience in Design and Engineering of energy or heavy industrial facilities. A concentration in renewable energy industry is a plus.
*Prior experience managing multiple large utility scale energy projects.
*5 years' experience in leadership role.
*Registered Professional Engineer preferred
*Ability to travel 15% - 30% of time to domestic and international locations.
*Knowledge of medium voltage utility substation equipment and design.
*Knowledge of NEC, NESC, ANSI and other industry applicable standards and codes.
