My client is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager looking to make the next step in their career.
You will be leading two established teams across the Midlands that design a range of Mechanical products/components for many of the biggest names in the Aerospace industry. A snapshot of the products your team will be designing include: Heat exchangers, Valves, pneumatics, fluid control systems and various other electro-mechanical equipment.
*Report directly to the Engineering Director
*Lead a team of Design Engineers through the entire lifecycle from concept through to manufacture
*Ensure that all projects under your leadership are delivered on budget and to schedule
*Focus on the development of Aircraft Heat Exchangers, their associated components/systems designed to customer and regulatory requirements
*Manage and prioritise your teams work load taking into account operational support, NPI and New Technologies
*Be the lead authority, signing off work carried out by your team i.e airworthiness documentation
*Prior experience of managing a team of between 10 - 15 engineers ideally in a matrix organisation
*Knowledge of thermal management
*Aerospace experience is an advantage but is not essential
*Strong safety critical Mechanical Design background
*Confident in a customer facing role
*Have the gravitas to win over an already established team - bringing new ideas to the table
*Creo is the preferred package but other CAD software such as Solidworks or NX would be suitable
*Experience of designing heat exchanges and valves
