Seeking a full-time Field Engineer to support our HVAC Load Reduction (HLR) systems installed at commercial customer sites. The role requires inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of specialized stationary electromechanical equipment at customer buildings including training and working with customers and sub-contractors and collecting data and providing detailed reports. A flexible schedule and willingness to travel for extended periods of time is required. Applicants must be highly reliable, personable, and professional. The Field Engineer acts as an ambassador for the company in front of customers and requires courtesy and respect towards all customer employees and subcontractors. Knowledge and experience of HVAC systems, electromechanical components, and electrical diagnostic procedures is desired. The job comes with competitive compensation and a full benefits package.

Responsibilities

  • On-site diagnosis and troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Project Management and Annual Service
  • Sensor offset/calibration
  • Air flow test and balance
  • Inspecting sub-contractor work
  • Pre-delivery inspection
  • Installing and testing firmware
  • Analyzing collected data and detecting potential issues
  • Manage scheduling with building managers, contractors and consultants
  • Maintaining detailed service records
  • Maintaining spare parts inventory
  • Sourcing parts and supplies when in the field
  • Test and confirm BMS integration and sequence of operations
  • Following all site specific and OSHA regulations


Skills/requirements

  • Reliable, personable and presentable, with good verbal communication skills
  • Hands on, high attention to detail
  • Travel requirements
    • Ability to travel to customer sites for extended periods (days or weeks)
    • Ability to travel on short notice if needed
    • Ability to travel internationally if needed
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Occasionally lift up to 50lbs (safely and unassisted)
  • Interpret building plans and mechanical drawings
  • Proficient with excel and other computers applications a plus


Required Experience

  • 2+ years HVAC, electrical or mechanical technician

  • BACnet
  • SCADA systems
  • BMS (Building Management Systems)
