Job Summary

Under general supervision and training will be responsible for the operation, monitoring and maintenance of landfill gas collection systems. This position can be based anywhere within the Bay Area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Have the aptitude and ability to be properly trained to operate, monitor and maintain landfill gas collection systems on a timely and cost effective basis in order to achieve minimum performance standards
Monthly Wellfield Monitoring and data collection
Liquid Level Measurements in Gas Extraction Wells
Pneumatic Pump Cleaning / Maintenance
Wellfield Maintenance and repair
Daily Preventative Maintenance / HDPE Pipe Welding
Routine Blower / Flare Operations. Monitoring and Maintenance
Condensate Management System Maintenance and repair
Monitor perimeter probes
Surface Emissions Monitoring
Participate in Health and Safety regular meetings and ensure that Health and Safety standards are followed by on-site staff and sub-contractors.
Develop and maintain operating records using written and computer/electronic methods.
Reports/consults with supervisor (and in some instances client) regarding field conditions and test results.

A valid driver's license with a good driving record is required
Mechanical - Technical Aptitude with at least 1 year of experience in mechanical or construction-related fields preferred but not required
0-2 years of Landfill-related experience preferred but not required
High School Diploma/GED preferred
Basic Computer Skills
Effective organizational as well as written and verbal communication skills
Experience with Health and Safety Oriented work preferred but not required.
Entry level familiarity with technical instrumentation and equipment preferred but not required
Meet physical requirements for driving (pick-up truck), walking inspection of improved and unimproved property, lifting and carrying equipment/mechanical components (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), hand excavation/digging (using shovels/picks), carrying and climbing ladders, operating and working from man lifts, operating electric tools (drills, saws, etc.), using hand tools (screw drivers, wrenches, hammers, etc.) and providing services under varying weather conditions.
