Senior Fire Protection Engineer (PE) with 10+ years of experience

10 - 15 year of experience

Location: Roanoke, VA (remote option)

Successful candidates will join a team of Fire Protection Engineers who work on a wide range of exciting and challenging projects including aircraft storage and maintenance hangars, central utility plants, manufacturing and food processing plants, industrial and petroleum processing sites, state-of-the-art information technology facilities, aircraft manufacturing plants, educational and cultural facilities and more. As a member of our fire protection engineering team, successful candidates will design many fire and life safety systems including: all types of sprinkler systems, foam, water spray, and clean agent fire suppression systems, fire pumps, water tanks, standpipes, smoke management systems, and building fire alarm and mass notification systems. You will perform building code and life safety code reviews, review hazardous materials, design and analyze building egress and passive fire protection systems, and review existing buildings for compliance with applicable building and fire codes. You will also be involved in the construction and commissioning process. The successful candidate will be expected to work independently with oversight from senior engineers.

Successful candidates will prepare comprehensive fire protection packages including fire suppression, fire alarm, smoke management, and life safety for a wide variety of project types. Responsibilities will include: Preparation of drawings, specification, reports and studies. Review contractor shop drawings. Perform hydraulic calculations. Apply sound fire protection engineering principles to design, troubleshooting and solving client related problems. Resolve design related installation issues. Assist in the construction administration process including review of contractor shop drawings, field inspection, testing and commissioning.
