Honda Aircraft is seeking contract Flight Test Instrumentation Engineers who will be a part of the flight test team and will be responsible for getting aircraft data from the Aircraft On-Board Data Acquisition System to the flight test and engineering teams.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Reviews recorded flight data for integrity, and readiness for upcoming flights.
Interfaces with other engineering associates involved in using post flight data reduction and analyses.
Reviews Flight Test Plans for support of upcoming flights.
Coordinates designs for Instrumentation Installations.
Monitors installation progress for support of upcoming flights.
Configures and programs the Data Acquisition System made by ACRA Control.
Interfaces with Flight Test Engineers to provide necessary data display onboard the flight test aircraft.
Coordinates aircraft configuration with the Ground Station which will require operational testing out of the Greensboro facility as well as off-site testing as required.
Manages the database used to document the parameters used in testing (MS Access / Oracle), and supporting the conformity processes.
Supports operational testing in the Ground Station.
This will entail operational testing out of the Greensboro facility, as well as off-site testing as required.
Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science from a four year college or university.
Equivalent education, training and work experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelors degree.
2+ years of directly related experience required.
ACRA and IADS experience is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Working knowledge of Data Acquisition systems operation & management, as well as data display and analysis programs.
Working knowledge and experience with a wide range of instrumentation sensors (i.e- Analog to Digital conversion, and digital data communication structures.)
Familiarity with FAA Certification processes (14CFR, FAR 23 &/or FAR 25) preferred.
Familiarity with Telemetry subsystems, as well as RF & GPS tracking methods and ground station antenna operations preferred.
Proficiency in one or more of the following programs/applications (Visual BASIC, CAD, C++, &/or MATLAB) preferred.
Proficiency with MS Office applications (WORD, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Access).
Ability to communicate effectively throughout all levels within the organization.
Ability to work independently or within a team oriented atmosphere.
