General Manager - East Midlands - Permanent

THE COMPANY
Our client is a leading 3PL supplier of large FMCG markets. A leader in their sector, our client has exciting growth plans for the next five years, for across the UK and Europe.

To help support this rapid growth, significant investment in manufacturing and operating process continue to be made by our client along with the recruitment of high calibre individuals across the Operational and Commercial functions.

THE ROLE
As part of the Senior Leadership team, you will be responsible for all operational activities with accountability for site budgets, profitability, ensuring optimal cost, quality and health & safety and site environmental management. You will be a key part to the company moving forward and ideally be very hand on especially on the Operations side, with experience working in a fast paced environment.

Key responsibilities will include:

To deliver and exceed performance plans as agreed in annual budgets, including Profit & Loss, Operating costs and Stock targets
Lead the Operations Team and develop and mentor staff to achieve their personal goals in line with business objectives
To improve site contribution through control of Labour, Raw materials, Packaging and overheads and the delivery of manufacturing efficiency improvement targets and cost reduction programmes
Support the development of appropriate systems and procedures to improve and sustain site performance along with maximising all service levels for the site.
Deliver manufacturing performance ensuring maximum output with desired quality, meeting customer expectations
Working alongside other stakeholders ensure the site achieves the high environmental and quality standards, along with driving a 'best in class' standard around manufacturing processes and output.

Key skills and attributes required, but not essential, include:
Previous experience of working in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with being hands
Experience working with 3PL companies
Lean / Six Sigma qualifications
Experience of P&L with a strong understanding of setting budgets and operational plans
Experience of managing and leading a manufacturing team through change.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the confidence to articulate clearly and to influence/ challenge key stakeholders within the business.
