Job title: Hardware Engineer
Salary: £35,000 - £50,000 negotiable + benefits
My client is entering a profound stage of growth as a result of a major contract win and consequently need an experienced Hardware Engineer to assist with the workload.
You will be involved in the full lifecycle design of bespoke safety critical hardware solutions for both Military and Civil aircraft cockpits.
*Develop and implement structured engineering solutions to meet programme requirements across the whole development lifecycle in accordance with customer requirements, legislation, human factors and business needs
*The design management and design, modification, commissioning, verification and proving of electronic circuits and their embodiment in ruggedised products
*Develop innovative engineering solutions to meet the requirements of the project to agreed schedule, quality and cost requirements across the whole development lifecycle within the context of the lifecycle management process
*Capture and define requirements through a disciplined and rigorous approach to requirements management and ask challenging questions about the requirements and architecture of the system at each level of the hierarchy
*Construct and implement embedded solutions including detailed design, contribution to technical reviews and performance optimisation
*Understand and implement the requirements for certification of safety critical products to the specified development assurance level requirements and processes
*Contribute to continual process improvement, in support of the company business and strategic objectives
*Degree in a relevant field such as Electronics Engineering
*Ideally have Avionics experience or extensive safety critical industry experience
*Interest in working in the aerospace industry and want to learn quickly
*Experience of working on unit level equipment rather than whole aircraft or whole system based work
*Full lifecycle design experience from conception through to testing/ certification
*Experience in several of the following is essential: designing microprocessor circuitry, designing analogue circuitry (e.g. amplifiers, filters and signal sampling), logic design and schematic capture techniques, low voltage power supply and/or power switching techniques, designing to meet EMC and/or lightning design protection requirements, experience of preparing circuit board and equipment level test specifications
*Desirable skills: Knowledge of DO-254, DO-160 or equivalent, experience of developing in VHDL, knowledge of PSPICE or other analogue simulation tools
