Summary of Role:

The Head of Construction will be responsible to ensure Schedule, Cost, Quality & Safety delivery of the Wind Project in Philippines. You will oversee a team of project managers who are on site managing the construction process for a group of wind and solar projects located at diverse locations around the country. The successful candidate will be responsible for verifying that construction is performed according to Global Development Standards (GDS) and Employers Requirements (ER).

What You Will Do:

  • Within a matrix structure lead the Project Managers responsible for delivering the projects from construction into operation safely, on time and to budget
  • Actively drive for zero HSE incidents during the construction of projects
  • Ensure the projects under construction are constructed and capable of being operated in accordance with local Health and Safety and Environment regulations and permits
  • Ensure the projects under construction are built in accordance with internal procedures and standards (including GDS and ERs) and contracts
  • Actively lead the decision making regarding claims received and dispute resolution
  • To participate in the construction project monthly meetings
  • To set up technical visits to the factories to carry out due diligence on the manufacturing
  • Ensure Project Managers keep issues and risk logs properly updated and promptly raise any issue that will require internal decision making
  • To establish Group Construction standards and implement and train all regions
  • Issue project progress reports as requested by either lenders or internal management team
  • Liaise and cooperate with other functional and regional teams
  • Liaise and cooperate with external parties - banks, independent engineers, contractors, government bodies etc.
  • Ability to work with electrical grid utilities to develop transmission grid connection plans
  • Strong reporting and approval process using procedures / processes using PMI® PMBOK®
  • Supporting Development team on construction related matters and constructability reviews
  • To lead groups focused on sharing of expertise, best practice and lessons learned globally
  • Assist the Head of Global Project Management to develop the regional project execution strategy
  • Market awareness of solar & wind farm construction activity, regulatory issues and other renewable technologies

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:Collaborates with the safety department to ensure all safety goals are the highest priority. Provides excellence in the management and delivery of the project in line with the company's expectations. Creates a culture of continuous improvement. Prepare and manage the project execution plan, coordinate and host project kick-off meetings, and prepare and manage effective project closeout.  Position SummaryThe Construction Supervisor is the team member with the boots on the ground every day, making each hour and dollar count, ensuring that our systems are built safely and efficiently, to the client standard. This person gets the unique opportunity to spend their days working outside on a project that begins as a bare piece of land and ends with a system that produces clean, renewable electricity for a community. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Meets with subcontractors daily to plan and coordinate the short term goals and objectives, and develop a path forward to solve any problems.- Develops three week look-ahead schedule and works with Construction Manager and trades to ensure schedule is met.- Collects and analyzes production data in order to build productivity standards for the project and then communicates these standards to the project stakeholders.- Coordinates the arrival of deliveries and equipment to the project site with the logistics team and subcontractors.- Reviews and thoroughly understands material submittals, plans and specifications to ensure that the project is built to standard.- Leads by example and enforces company and regulatory safety policies and procedures; addresses non-compliance among all employees, subcontractors and vendors.- Knows the key operational details of the subcontract and holds the subcontractors accountable to their agreement and the company's standards.- Measures productivity, progress and performance of the subcontractors on a daily basis and completes daily activity and tracking reports. Qualifications- 3-5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in the solar industry- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred- Exceptional oral and written communication skills; experience with MS Suite tools required- Must have working knowledge of civil, electrical and utility construction- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards required; OSHA 10 is a minimum requirement- Willingness to travel for projects in new and growing markets
