Our client is a global leader in power technologies who are currently looking for a hands on, experienced Head of Contract Management to be responsible for managing the Contract Management department in their European Grid Integration business unit. This is a full time permanent position offering a salary of circa €130,000-€140,000 p/a gross depending on experience plus a competitive package.


Head of Contract Management duties and responsibilities:

  • Heading the regional Contract Management team whose overriding target is to safeguard contractual entitlements
  • Preparation of terms and conditions of Customer's contract, Subcontracts, Supply contracts and Consortium Agreements at tendering stage;
  • General advice and support to project management, site management, procurement/ supply department and other project team members in the execution of Customer Contracts, Consortium Agreements, Subcontracts/Supply contracts to secure contractual rights and entitlements
  • Managing the overall identification of opportunities for outgoing claims (Customers, Suppliers/Subcontractors and Consortium Partners), developing claim strategies, preparing notifications/correspondence and related documentation
  • Leading the overall analysis of incoming claims (Customers, Suppliers/Subcontractors and Consortium Partners), development of defense strategies, preparing response/ correspondences, counter-claims
  • Heading the preparation and conduction of risks and opportunities analysis/ presentations, preparation of strategy papers, definition of overall project claim strategies
  • Leading contract and claims negotiations and settlements together with the project management
  • Preparation of project related amendments, change orders and other contract related documents
  • Supporting the close-out of contracts
  • Ensuring adherence to insurance provisions and preparation of insurance claims
  • Support and participation in weekly and monthly project status meetings with Project team, Customers, Suppliers/Subcontractors and Consortium Partners
  • Coaching Project Team Members in contract and claims management topics

Head of Contract Management desired experience:

  • University degree or equivalent degree (an advantage with a degree in quantity surveying, engineering, law or economics with affinity to technical and contract management issues)
  • Extensive experience in Contract Management functions and processes in EPC energy projects or similar industrial plants (preferably +10 years' experience as Contract Manager)
  • Experience in leading internationally staffed teams of at least 5-10 people
  • Solid experience working with change management, contract-related legal issues with international partners
  • Mandatory with ability to negotiate in English, any other foreign language is a plus
  • Willingness to work at site and to travel both nationally and internationally
  • An advantage with knowledge in Primavera and MS Project
  • Developed strategic and analytical skills
