Reporting to: Project Manager and functionally to Hub HSE Manager

Location: Project site in Malaysia

Mission Statement
Contribute to implement Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) performance in the respective site.
Support business by applying in-depth HSE knowledge to offer solutions and advice. Assist in the
delivery of contract specific HSE requirements and ensure effective risk management through HSE
excellence along value chain.

Main Accountabilities

1. Metrics
A. Reports HSE incidents. Feeds back on lessons learned and best practice from own unit
and across site management and employees including subcontractor staff.
Reports progress on implementation and Group Sustainability objectives and
key performance indicators (KPIs) to Project Manager and/or Hub HSE Manager, as
required
2. Regulatory compliance
A. Implements policies, COP and standards. Ensures area of responsibility is audited
according to program for audit.
3. Risk management
A. Facilitates HSE risks assessment by site management involving shop floor employees, i.e.
those directly concerned by the hazards, and ensures all processes are implemented.
4. Continuous improvement
A. Drives behavioral change through implementing IAPG performance improvement
programs and practices locally to ensure an exemplary health and safety culture as well
as a strong focus on environment at the site.
5. Communication and Engagement
A. Engages external (e.g. customers, suppliers and other stakeholders) and internal
stakeholders in order to report on, raise awareness and gain commitment on HSE
efforts and performance and obtain objective feedback. Cooperates with other functions
and business partners to drive HSE performance.
6. Operational support
A. Ensures appropriate safety equipment and tools are available and used. Identifies, plans
and initiates training need, e.g. for employees (including subcontractor staff), site
managers, and agree with, and ensures delivery of training. Drives and ensures compliance with country management systems (ISO 14001
and OHSAS 18001).
B. Delivering safety induction to internal employees and subcontractor employees.

7. Project management
A. Contributes to and/or plans and executes HSE and sustainability related projects.
Develops and reports on project objectives. Manages project resources such as
manpower, financials and other relevant factors as applicable.
B. Responsible for subcontractor prequalification and performance evaluation.
C. Attend safety meetings with subcontractors, site management and Customer.

Knowledge:
-Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Safety Management,
Occupational Health & Safety [OHS], or a related HSE-oriented field of study
- Extensive site HSE experience is preferred, especially with electrical safety and/or
OHS.
- Strong knowledge of local Malaysia HSE regulations

Competencies/Skills:
- Malaysia local legislative Safety Certification is mandatory.
- Proven expertise maintaining an Environmental Management System (EMS) based on
ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 Standard.
- Interpersonal, and influencing skills.
- Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills

Experience:
- Experience with implementing / supporting corporate sustainability initiatives, health,
safety and environmental objectives.
- 5-8 years of professional experience in Industrial Health, Safety, and/or Environmental
function including minimum 3~5 years of construction field experience.
