Our client is an industry leader in the design, manufacturing, and processing of high-quality, high-performance seals and components for the oil and gas industry. They are preferred suppliers to a large number of major OEMs, each of which has special needs in dealing with elevated temperatures, chemical and media resistance, extreme pressure, wear, and lubricity.
Responsible for continuous operation and improvement of Health, Safety, and Environmental Policy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Work directly with line management and production employees to develop and execute safety/security strategies, programs and systems, to meet business objectives in those areas. Monitors and enforces safety programs and policies.
Develops, implements and monitors accident prevention and loss control methods, procedures and coordinates programs and training for all locations with site safety representatives.
Ensures OSHA compliance with Federal, State, Local and Corporate requirements, monthly quarterly and yearly in support of local management expectations, relating to training, record keeping, permits, reports, policy and procedures and other related compliance issues. Includes performing job safety analyses on current and future equipment purchases. Evaluates equipment and works with vendors and employees to ensure proper guarding is purchased and installed.
Ensures environmental compliance with Federal, State, Local and Corporate requirements relating to record keeping, permits, reports, training and other related concerns.
Compiles, analyzes and interprets statistical data related to exposure factors concerning occupational illnesses and accidents and prepares reports for information of personnel concerned on a worldwide basis.
Manages all related medical - first aid and industrial hygiene activities including coordination with health care clinic, including transporting injured employees to clinic. Leads internal safety teams and trains on proper accident investigation techniques and hazard recognition. Reports accidents to workers' compensation carrier.
Manages hazardous waste disposal, tracking, and reporting.
Directs security management to ensure employee safety and protection of company property.
Interfaces with Corporate staff and assist in Safety and Environmental audits off site.
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Safety/Environmental is required. 10 to 15 years' experience in a related position in a manufacturing environment. Familiarity with manufacturing specialties such as machining, assembly, testing, quality testing and material handling. Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations and requirements. Knowledge of state and federal laws, local ordinances and other rules and regulations associated with facility and employee security.
Must be able to pass a drug screen
