Job Description

The primary role of the field service technician (oilfield) is to service and repair a variety of equipment including mud bucket equipment, mud vac equipment, transfer pumps and other oilfield-related equipment, under general supervision. Work to be done in the field and at the shop.

Job Duties

  • Diagnoses and repairs a variety of equipment including high pressure transfer pumps, centrifugal pumps, mud vac, air compressors, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, diesel screen cleaners, forklifts, pressure washers, light towers, wellhead attachments and pressure equipment and various other types of oilfield related equipment.
  • Rig up and rig down of equipment on customer sites.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Read and interpret basic measuring equipment.
  • Operate and maintain power equipment.
  • Order parts as necessary for equipment with prior approval. Install and/or replace new or reconditioned repair parts.
  • Basic testing of equipment for proper operation.
  • Operation of lifting devices.
  • Complete proper paperwork as assigned.


May Be Required To Assist Other Employees.

  • Clean equipment with pressure washer.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of the shop and yard.
  • Other duties as assigned by management


Requirements

  • Would prefer 1-2 Years experience as mechanic but willing to train mechanically inclined individual
  • Exhibit a clear understanding of the necessity of equipment safety and a high level of safety consciousness.
  • Ability to communicate equipment issues and understand job assignments.
  • Ability to diagnose and trouble shoot complex equipment problems.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
