Innovation & NPD Technologist
£25,000 + Benefits
Hull (Kingston-Upon-Hull)
8am-5pm, Monday-Friday

My client is large food company with over 10 UK-based manufacturing facilities. They require an Innovation & NPD Technologist to join one of their sites in Hull.

The site is high, low and medium risk (at different stages of the manufacturing process). They have a large number of different product lines and the pace is extremely fast-moving. The atmosphere is very positive and collaborative, and communication between departments is excellent. At the same time, there is very little 'hand-holding', so the Innovation & NPD Technologist must be a self-motivated and self-assured professional.

The Innovation & NPD Technologist role (includes but is not limited to):

* Proactively develop concepts for multiple customers and across multiple categories, working with the innovation chefs
* Manage NPD projects through to handing them over to the Process team
* Challenge the status-quo in order to deliver objectives
* Translate market insights into concepts
* Work with other relevant departments (such as Marketing and Technical) to drive development projects
* Source new ingredients
* Support the Process Team in factory trials
* Support the Technical Team to generate customer documentation
* Travel to conferences, events, workshops and to other sites within the Division where necessary
* Take the lead in taste panels and customer presentations
* Report to the Head of Innovation

The ideal Innovation & NPD Technologist:

* A passion and dedication to fantastic food
* Confidence and the tenacity to succeed
* Degree educated (or equivalent)
* Excellent communication skills and he ability to build collaborative professional relationships
* Experience of NPD within food manufacturing and a dedication to pursuing a career in this field
* Project management and organisational skills
