We are seeking a Lead Automation Technician to expand our field efforts in the DJ Basin of Colorado. The ideal candidate would be both a player and a coach, managing a crew of 2-4 automation technicians as well as interfacing and communicating with customers on project work. As a key member of the growing field team, the ideal candidate would demonstrate a desire to learn and adapt quickly, as well as a mentorship aptitude. Projects include well-pad installations, commissioning, maintenance, trouble-shooting, compressor stations, salt-water disposals (SWD's), plants, and programming. We are looking for a candidate that wants to grow and advance within our business, and also eager to assist in technical and professional development of those they manage.
Candidates Must Be Proficient in the following:
- RTU's, EFM's, VFD's (ROC 107, 800, ABB TotalFlow)
- PLC Programming (Allen Bradley, Idec, ScadaPack)
- HMI Development and Programming (Beijer, Red Lion)
- Communication protocols & radio communications (Freewave, Xetawave, MDS)
- Artificial Lift Deployments, R&D and Optimization
- Automated valves and sizing
- Networking TCP/IP
- Instrumentation Calibrations
- Wireless Instrumentation
- Solar Powered Systems
- Ability to interpret electrical and Process and Instrumentation Drawings (P&IDs)
- Modbus protocol language
At least 5 years' experience as an automation, instrumentation, or process controls technician or field engineer. Previous experience managing junior / apprentice technicians required. A 2 year associates degree in Industrial Electrical/Electronics, Instrumentation, or Process Controls is preferred.
