Job Title: Lead Avionics Engineer
Salary: Circa £65,000 (negotiable depending on experience)
Location: Dorset

An opportunity has arisen for a Lead Avionics Engineer to join an ever expanding Aviation company in Dorset. My client offers an extensive range of services from bespoke design, flight testing, product validation, classification and modification.

Within your team you would be the lead for all design aspects and would report directly to the Head of Design.

Not only will you be involved with the hands on work you would also be tasked with additional management responsibilities such as being able to provide quotes and contracts to clients when necessary.

Responsibilities for the position of Lead Avionics Engineer

*Provide leadership and direction to your team
*Day to day management of the project workload and progress reports
*Confident when working with customers face to face
*Be the CAA/EASA point of contact
*Prepare estimates and quotes for clients
*Approval of certification plans and records
*Classification of projects IAW EASA guidelines (21.A.91 & 101)
*Approval of system safety and equipment assessments
*Lead technical reviews of design projects
*Have the ability to complete Aircraft surveys
*Able to conduct performance reviews and appraisals
*Preparation, checking and/or approval of project design and certification documents, including EWIS/EZAP
*MAA DAOS Avionic/Electrical Design signatory

Person specific requirements for the position of Lead Avionics Engineer

*Relevant Degree or experience
*Strong background in avionics and electrical systems (experience with Interior lighting, IFE, flight and navigation systems is desirable)
*Previous experience in a similar role as a CVE signatory for avionics and electrical systems
*Experienced at mentoring and providing technical leadership to small teams
*Strong interpersonal skills and able to liaise directly with customers at a technical level
*EASA Part 21J and MAA DAOS approval knowledge
*Familiar with EASA, CAA and FAA websites
