The position requires experience in classical reservoir engineering methods, economics, reservoir fluid characterization, uncertainty analysis, reservoir simulation and reserves evaluation. The successful candidate will be part of a multi-disciplinary team and will provide timely & accurate subsurface analysis for these assets.


Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
*Take an active role in preparing field development plans, including documentation and presentation of those plans to management as appropriate.
*Active participation in various interface meetings between various disciplines and departments to achieve the common goal.
*Provide recommendations for data gathering during appraisal and development drilling.
*Quality control that static models are fit for dynamic simulation and resolve issues within the subsurface technical team
*Provide leadership to progress FDP to sanction proposal to higher management.
*Understand current SEC reserves guidelines and participate in the annual reserves process, including allocating current and future volumes using the Hess P1-P6 system. Participate in internal and external reserve audits.
*Participate as a presenter as well as a reviewer in technical assurance reviews and peer reviews.
*Provide one-on-one mentoring to less-experienced reservoir engineers with emphasis on the application of classical reservoir engineering techniques.
*Ensure high quality standards for managing subsurface data and field models, ensuring consistency with local and global guidelines.
*Provide leadership to technical team in construct and updating reservoir models (Eclipse, IPM or DCA) to assist with field development planning, reservoir management, and preparation of long term production forecasts.

Skills/ Competencies

*Strong experience in field development planning and economic evaluation and ability to identify and optimize the key E&P business drivers for a particular project.
*Positive attitude and proactive team worker. Capable of problem solving and always looking for efficient operational solutions.
*Self-starter, able to work independently and collaborate fully as part of a multi-disciplined team. Able to work to tight deadlines and effective at multi-tasking.
*Effective oral and written communication skills in English, confidently representing opinions at technical and operational meetings involving management, peers, or partners.
*Mentoring of more junior staff and transferring of knowledge to the organization as a whole.
*15+ years of reservoir engineering experience, operations related experience an advantage.

*Experience with engineering software (for example: Petrel, Eclipse, ENABLE, Petroleum Experts Suite, Kappa Suite and OFM), Monte Carlo software (Crystal Ball, @RISK) and MS Office Suite. Experience with economic software (e.g. PEEP) a plus.

Education/ Training

*Bachelor of Science / Engineering degree in Petroleum or Reservoir Engineering.
