Spencer Ogden the global leader in energy, engineering & infrastructure staffing and recruitment. We are seeking a Lead Operations & Maintenance Field Technician for Utility and Commercial Solar PV systems.

The Lead Solar O&M technician is responsible for ensuring the end to end safety, quality and performance of solar PV systems. This includes performing preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, and supervision of laborers. The ideal candidate thinks critically, can work well independently, and is a problem solver skilled at troubleshooting.

Qualified Quality, Commissioning, and Service Electricians are provided 1st in class safety and technical training with full office support. Once qualified, Technicians are assigned a company vehicle stocked with spare parts and testing equipment, a laptop or tablet, smart phone, and company expense card.

*Conducting on-site routine maintenance, service, trouble shooting and repair of solar photovoltaic equipment.
*DC and AC testing included but not limited to polarity, open circuit voltage, grounding continuity, insulation resistance testing, I-V curve tracing.
*Perform site quality, Data Acquisition System (DAS) and PV system inspection andcommissioning, and provide testing documentation, quality scoring, and a fully detailed punch list in a timely manner
*Work with equipment/inverter/DAS technical support and REC's DAS Specialist while onsite to resolve any DAS issues
*Identify un-safe work or operating conditions and take proper action to neutralize hazards.
*Ensuring the vehicle, tooling, electronics, software, and company property issued are accounted for.
*Troubleshoot DAS, SCADA, and Tracker facility network, and electrical problems on live PV power plants

*Experienced in all aspects of PV maintenance, including: PV DC operations, AC medium voltage, Network communications and monitoring
*Diagnostic capabilities to trouble shoot and correct problems found in the field for both tracking systems and inverters.
*Troubleshooting downed inverters
*Skilled in the use of testing equipment and tools such as: Thermo graphic Electrical Inspection, IV Curve Tracing, Meggers, Ground Fault Detection
*Clear understanding of OSHA safe work place practices and procedure
*Ability to read and understand electrical single-line and three-line diagrams
*Ability to take direction and complete tasks with minimal oversight.
*Provide direction for less experienced technicians
*Experienced in the use of the company work ticket and time reporting systems
*Must have the ability to travel, work on-call during off-shift hours and weekends.

*OSHA 10 HR Training
*NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in workplace.
*2+ year of PV construction or maintenance experience
*Ideally an industrial & Commercial Electrical Journeyman certification
*Extensive experience with both 600V and 1000V PV systems (positive, negative, and ungrounded)
*Fully Trained, certified, and deemed confident in maintenance and minor repair on typical PV System components, including, but not limited to, string inverters, central inverters, array trackers, combiner boxes, and DAS equipment
