Tier 1 Automotive Manufacturing organisation and market leader for component management within the bus and coach market required a qualified Management Accountant.
ROLE & PURPOSE
The Management Accountant will assist the Group Finance Director in preparation of
monthly management accounts for all of the individual group companies.
Assist in the preparation of monthly summary and detailed Finance report to Directors.
There will be a strong bias towards costing, margin analysis, production labour and overhead recovery, scrap analysis, reporting of consumable spend as well as intercompany costing updates.
The preparation of budgets and subsequent monthly variance analysis and commentaries for
budget holders will be a key part of the role along with reporting and commentary on KPIs.
Assist in group forecasting and provide updates on resource requirements as well as variances in forecast performance against budget.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITY
Production of monthly Management Accounts with reporting pack including KPIs full year forecasting, commentary and summaries.
Preparation of cost of sales budgets, monthly cost of sales analysis and commentary.
Review margin analysis and instigate profit improvement programs with key managers.
Providing product costing for new products and for large contracts.
Work closely with the following key managers:
Planning & Logistics to provide monthly material spend targets and inventory reduction targets and identify overstocking, slow moving product and stock discrepancies..
BDMs for sales forecasting and sales budgeting.
Production Management to forecast resource requirements, prepare output targets and report on material scrap and overhead recovery.
Quality to review warranty statistics, monitor warranty campaigns and provisions and supplier credits.
Engineering to review engineering works orders and report on value engineering projects.
Purchasing to review supplier cost down initiatives.
Finance Manager to review short term cash flows and report on long term cash flows.
IT Manager to constantly upgrade costing and materials management systems.
Work closely with FD and IT Manager on preparation of and execution of stocktakes Issued by Finance Director.
- We are looking for a degree level candidate, that is highly numerate with CIMA or
ACCA qualified or part qualified.
- Someone that is highly proficient in Excel and has strong Microsoft Office
- Need to have a strong background in both financial and manufacturing computer
- Ideally has experience in manufacturing or a process industry
- Full UK driving licence
- Accurate, articulate with strong attention to detail
- Be analytical, highly numerate and have strong English report writing skills
- Be able to communicate effectively with employees at all levels
- Be able to work to deadlines in a calm, effective, accurate and methodical manner
- Have the confidence to show leadership skills but also demonstrate humility towards
colleagues to maximise results
