Managing Director - Energy Storage - UK Wide - £Competitive

My client, a very exciting and innovative Energy Storage & Energy Management business, are looking for a Managing Director to drive the growth of the business. This is a crucial role for the business - successful candidate will take full responsibility for the growth and operations throughout the UK.

This is a fairly hands-on role, so the successful applicant will have a charismatic personality with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills in order to drive the business forward, meet deadlines, control costs and motivate and develop the workforce.

Managing Director Responsibilities:

Corporate Responsibilities
*Actively contribute to the leadership, governance, and performance of the business in all areas
*Implementing commercial and operational strategy in line with Board's vision
*Playing a leading role in shaping the future of the business
*Business reporting at Board Meetings, implementing current business strategy and ensuring continuity of the company 3-5-year business plan
*Implementing long term company strategy and initiatives as they pertain to the execution of renewable energy projects

Leadership:
*Resilient, visible leader, and an excellent role model able to manage and mentor staff

Financial Management
*Ensure best value for money, assurance and quality are at the heart of financial decisions.
*Act as principal budget holder for the business

Business Growth
*Identifications of new business growth opportunities
*Creating business proposition to grow the business profitability
*Promotion of the business and its objectives, building long term strategic relationships and effective partnerships
*Liaison with other colleagues and directors on joint projects, responsible for driving the sales forward
*Oversight of the company product development to maintain and improve market value
*Providing input into ongoing product development
*Able to demonstrate a strong commercial background with the ability to broker complex sales and long-term partnerships with key clients
*Leading concept development, marketing, and branding

Service Delivery
*To lead and ensure the operational functions are delivered in line with relevant regulations, best practice and policies
*To identify, mitigate and manage risks (including Health & Safety, staff welfare, financial, etc.) associated with the business.

The Ideal Managing Director:

*Collaborative and co-operative leadership style with the ability to set strategy and inspire co-workers and partners at all levels of the company
*Passion for Renewable Energy and proven experience of working in the renewables industry is a must
*Natural deal maker with an entrepreneurial approach and high levels of drive and tenacity
*High calibre (very likely Masters Level) with strong technical and commercial affinity
*A strong communicator capable of dealing with people at all levels
*Excellent solution-seeking, teamwork, leadership, and communication skills which extend across all organisational and management levels
*Ability to take decisions in the best interest of the shareholders
*Excellent people management skills
*Enthusiastic and well organised
