The Role

Our client is a key player in the aerospace industry who is looking for a subject expert to join their team as Manufacturing Engineer with a focus on landing gear (bushings and bearings).
This role has opened due to our client identifying the need for a subject matter expert, and they are looking for a Manufacturing engineer with a niche skill set.

Within this role you will be responsible for the landing gears and landing gear design and your

responsibilities will include (but not limited) the following:
-Evaluate manufacturability of designs
-Makes systematic technical risks & opportunities analysis of developments and changes
-Support the development and reviews of key products
-Challenge options and influence supplier design. If risky, solve technical problematics with supplier to prevent future issues
-Assist and support design manufacturability
-Identifies risks and defines the associated mitigations
-Inspections and production ramp-up

Skills
We are looking for an expert in the area of landing gear bushings and bearings.

-Must have excellent understanding of the bearings of different material and their regulations
-Must have extensive experience with bushings and bearings
-Working knowledge of regulations i.e. REACh
-Ideally aerospace background, as the experience our client looks for is predominantly gained there but will consider relevant experience
-Ideally, exposure/experience in Design and not just manufacturing engineering.
-Awareness of manufacturing controls applicable to aerospace applications
-Experience with suppliers contractual frameworks (ASR, GRESS)
