  • Ensure that all engineering activities related to his discipline are executed timely, efficiently and cost-effectively in accordance with contract specification, quality standards and safety requirements
  • Lead the Mechanical Discipline Team to deliver the business objectives.
  • Develop technical alternative solutions guaranteeing high quality standards and profitability increase.


Key aims and objectives

  • Take care of the proper allocation of adequate resources amongst the various projects and proposals.
  • Promote effective collaboration, synergistic integration and efficient learning environment
  • Prepare standard procedures, standard specifications and drawings in order to achieve high-level quality and low costs.
  • Appraise the performances of Mechanical Discipline members


Prime responsibilities and duties

  • Coordinate and supervise the main activities carried out by the members of Mechanical Discipline allocated in projects and proposals
  • Maintain and develop the specific know-how pertaining to the discipline
  • Define and monitor the organization and the resources needed to develop the projects as required by the job, implementing and managing additional manpower
  • Define the needs of training for the internal people and the investments necessary to empower and to develop people's skills
  • Support Mechanical Chief Engineers in reviewing engineering progress and in ensuring high engineering quality
  • Check and Review Mechanical Discipline KPI
  • Define engineering alternative solutions for complex technical aspects, according to the scope of work, budget and time of the project
  • Develop and upgrade engineering standards and/or software
  • Support Proposal Dept. during bid phase, defining technical solutions
  • Ensure proper coordination with other engineering disciplines both on projects & proposal and when standard methodologies are developed
  • Ensure that periodical estimate of material and erection quantities is carried out for each Project


Allied occasional duties

  • Support the Project Management Team in case of dispute/claims related to the Mechanical Discipline
  • Tutoring for Mechanical Engineers
  • Support procurement department in Subcontractors and Vendors qualification

Core competencies

  • Mechanical Engineering background
  • Knowledge of main international codes, standards and best engineering practices for rotating equipment, static equipment and HVAC
  • Experience in Mechanical Engineering leadership in large EPC projects
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Long-standing experience as Mechanical Chief Engineer in Oil&Gas/Petrochemical/Energy projects (minimum 5 years)
  • Bachelor/Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering
