Mechanical Inspector - Special Inspector

Location: Downtown Manhattan, New York City

About the company

Our client is an award- winning engineering firm in the heart of downtown manhattan. Our client have been around for many years and is seeking to expand their NYC office. My client is seeking a dynamic Architect with Project management experience interested in being apart of a growing firm.

Experience Required

  • Act as a primary inspector on various projects.

  • Responsible for the inspection and observation report documentation for
    compliance with approved CD's of [New York City construction building code]
    compliance.

  • Perform and or witness special inspections e.g. Standpipe, Chimneys, Fire-Resistant
    Penetrations and Joints, Fire Rated Construction, Energy Compliance, Fuel Oil
    Storage and Piping, Mechanical, Architectural, Fire Protection, Energy Compliance,
    Steam and Heating systems, Structural Steel, Welding, Bolting or Sprinkler on New
    York City construction projects.

  • Accurately interpret construction documents and prepare well-written and concise
    reports capturing all necessary elements required.

  • Prepare and complete reports on inspection activities, facilitate documentation and
    required technical report forms in accordance with New York City DOB Rules and
    Regulations.

  • Represent the firm by attending both internal and external client meetings when
    necessary.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with architect, engineers,
    client, building representatives, subcontractors and others who are on the project
    team.

  • Travel to job sites in and around the greater New York City metropolitan area.
Qualification
  • Qualifications:
  • 4 plus years' experience preferred.
  • Bachelor degree in Engineering.
  • ICC Commercial Mechanical Inspector & ICC Commercial Energy Inspector
  • ICC Spray-applied Fireproofing Special Inspector
  • AWI Certifications -
  • NY PE Preferred.
  • Must be familiar with the New York City Building Code.
  • Prior work experience in the Construction Inspection Industry.
  • Well-developed communications, decision making, technical and practical
  • knowledge of commercial construction, interpersonal, organizational and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent Technical writing skills
