The Mechanisms team focus on the Assembly and Test of pioneering low volume bespoke Space products.

You will get the opportunity to work on a variety of products such as Reaction Wheels, Antenna Pointing Mechanisms, Image focus mechanisms, deployable and tracking solar arrays and robotic arms. As a consequence my client seeks a candidate with a strong attention to detail with the ability to assemble intricate and complex equipment


*Mechanical assembly of precision mechanisms - component level processing and build including bearing lubrication and motor build through to "top level" assembly all in a clean room environment
*Ensue that they day to day responsibilities for the clean tent are carried out such as stock control, tooling control and hardware location
*Work with the mechanism product owners in order to devise a training plan for other technicians to ensure that new products are produced to the highest standards in line with regulations
*Identify and support the Product Owners with product evolution changes to improve assembly techniques and Design-For-Assembly (DFA), such as: harness improvements; mechanics improvements; jigs and tooling to assist manufacture; procedure updates etc.
*There is also the opportunity to grow your skills in other areas such as assisting with the electo-mechanical testing in thermal conditions
*Fault diagnosis, down to PCB level using standard lab equipment - power meters, logic analysers, oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies etc.


*HNC or HND in in electrical or mechanical engineering
*Self-motivated, creative, high attention to detail and accountable
*Practical ability (demonstrated within career or hobbies (e.g. robotics or similar)
*Ability to work autonomously or within project team(s) and a real company player
*Experience in a clean room environment is beneficial but not essential
