1General job description:
The Piping Engineer designs, specifies, develops, inspects complex piping systems pertaining to critical chemical facilities located worldwide, according to applicable regulations, norms, contractual specifications based on PIDs, pipe classes and scope of works.
He can also check and supervise the a.m. tasks when being performed by a contractor.
He gives priority to safety and environment.
He actively participates to risk assessment sessions, HAZOP sessions. He gives piping input to preparation of PIDs and layout drawings.

*Gives input / checks 2D and 3D CAD models in cooperation with the CAD office and other disciplines
*Checks piping drawings and isometrics
omechanical calculations, including the flexibility calculations
oline lists, valves lists, bills of materials
*Ensure compliance with regulation, code, specifications and pipe-classes
*Coordinate checks of drawings and information from vendors within the piping department
*Communicates and interfaces with other disciplines
*Acts pro-actively as technical expert

3Job Qualification Needs:

3.1Main Requirements

*Languages : at least good command of English

3.2Specific Experience
*At least 10 years experience with piping design and installation
*Familiar with pipe-classes, piping, valves and piping components specifications, plot plans, PIDs, piping supports
*Experience with piping in heavy industries like petro-chemical industries, power plants…
*Knowledge of the usage of special piping materials.
*Basic knowledge of welding procedures and weld examination methods.
*Practical knowledge of AUTOCAD…
*Able to conceptualize and draw design details on an autonomous basis with minor instructions
*Able to work on a systematic way when dealing e.g. with quality checks and inspections in view of mechanical completion certification
