Our Client, a world leader in the construction materials industry are constructing a new Cement plant in the West of Africa with a project value of over €200m. They are seeking a vastly experienced Plant Manager with extensive industry experience to ensure the project is able to achieve: technical performance targets, time schedule milestones and budget forecasts.


*Ensure that safety is the paramount concern of all individuals involved in the project in order to comply with company and local country procedures and regulations.
*Ensure that all suppliers and sub-contractors are compliant with the same standards of safety.
*Take complete responsibility for developing, organising and delivering the project through the implementation phase (Construction & Commissioning of the plant).
*Provide regular reporting to the overall Project Director and Steering Committee on: Safety, Schedule, Budget etc.
*Supervise the senior management team of the project including the: Engineering, HSE and Site Managers
*Assist in financial and technical comparisons of bidders involved in project tenders and play an active part in negotiations with suppliers and sub-contractors with the assistance of the Project Director.
*Ensure that the project team are motivated, organised and driven to deliver the project in line with the businesses expectations and standards
*Manage the day-to-day activities on the project
*Coordinate with the team responsible for operational handover of the project to ensure a smooth transition and start-up of the plant.
*Ensure that proper documentation is kept for auditing and so that a comprehensive and detailed end-of-project report can be compiled


*Minimum Bachelor's Degree educated within a relevant engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil etc.)
*Preferably a Master's Degree in Engineering or Business e.g. MBA
*15+ years' experience in the construction of large industrial projects
*8+ years' experience in a Project Management capacity for world renowned EPC companies
*Cement Industry experience would be highly beneficial, preferably within a similar role during the construction phase of a cement plant
*Experience working on a variety of international projects in multicultural environments, preferably on the African continent
*Fluency in both written and verbal English and French is a must

My client are offering a highly competitive expatriate package including: accommodation, transport, flights, medical etc. The duration of the project is forecast to take 3 years and the candidate must be willing to work and live full-time (single status) in East, Africa.
