Process Controls and Automation Engineer

The Process Controls and Automation Engineer is the subject matter expert (SME) that provides technical expertise/direction in all areas of process automation and control for the facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement written policies, procedures, and standards for process control projects
  • Drive/create or adopt a consistent controls and P&ID review practice
  • Provide oversight of external project resources and activities in regards to design, control narritives, logic, and programming.
  • Manage projects as assigned to support the North America Region to achieve business goals
  • For each project, establish clear and definitive scope, schedule, budgetary requirements and work plan in accordance with project parameters and business need
  • Manage and facilitate/resolve scope/schedule/cost challenges
  • Prepare reports and updates to management relating to projects status, requests and approvals needed.
  • Manage assigned tasks with goal of zero safety or environmental incidents
  • Complete feasibility scopes and estimates as directed
  • Support established procurement and contracting procedures, with coordination, expediting and field oversight for equipment and contract services
  • Provide other engineering services and operations/plant support as directed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical or electrical engineering
  • Experience with instrumentation and control systems
  • 6+ years of experience in chemical industry
  • Experience with SAP, AutoCad, Microsoft Suite
