Program Engineer (Fluid Transfer)/Coventry
Application Development of fuel transfer systems in collaboration with customers of the automotive industry resp. automotive suppliers.
Essential duties and responsibilities (Duties required for successful job performance)
Application of product designs in order to meet customer specification by minimum of cost - support customer engineers providing technical solutions.
Analysis Customer designs - carry out feasibility studies, Tolerance studies, FMEA analysis and DV-Testing
Drive internal APQP process (CLauS) - Ensure new product launches meet internal and external time and technical expectations - prepare regular updates for Senior management review
Work with Customer and Internal Engineers to ensure that Customer System Design Specifications are appropriate and obtained in a timely manner
Utilise the prototype facility in order to validate designs and support production start of vehicle builds
Work with internal Materials Group to ensure that appropriate materials are specified for products
Work with our manufacturing divisions to ensure that products are designed for the best possible manufacturing capability - support plants with technical expertise
Work with internal and external tooling designers to ensure that design are suitable for most efficient tooling
Work with laboratory Engineers to ensure that performance testing of components is fully understood and completed to meet customer timing
Work together with CAD Engineers in order to produce and approve internal manufacturing drawings
Identify and communicate technical market trends in the Automotive Business - define technical needs to the R&D group
Carry out cost reduction proposals through VA/VE analysis
Support sales at customer presentations with technical expertise
Support cost estimating process
Meet requirements of the DIN EN ISO 9000, TS 16949, DIN EN ISO 14001
Required education and/or experience
Bachelor's Degree in engineering
Master's Degree preferred
Five years' experience in the automotive industry

High degree of task and objective orientation
Languages: high level in English, German and French will be valued
