This position will require experience managing utility scale projects throughout the ERCOT and SPP regions specifically. The ideal candidate will be skilled in permitting, site acquisition, land lease negotiations, etc. as well as have the following qualifications:

Project Development

  • Lead cross-functional project teams to bring wind, solar and storage developments from prospecting stages through land acquisition, design, permitting, and offtake contracting, up to the start of construction
  • Retain day-to-day project development across southern United States (SPP South, ERCOT, MISO South, TVA, SERC
  • Evaluate project sites for utility-scale renewable projects & bring them through the due diligence process
  • Secure zoning permits, tax abatements, crossing agreements and road use agreements
  • Lead the negotiation of permitting documents and interconnection agreements in close coordination with EPC Department
  • Conduct or Coordinate site visits to support site evaluation, suitability, and due diligence effort
  • Develop scopes for technical services and manage relationships with contractors and third-party engineering firm
  • Manage distribution interconnection process and interface with Utilities/regional transmission operators for development portfolio
  • Engaging consultants to prepare critical issues analysis, natural resource surveys, cultural resource analysis, geotechnical surveys, wetland delineations, and phase one environmental site assessments
  • Prepared and submitted solar energy interconnection requests · Support the negotiation of Power Purchase Agreement

 

Qualifications

  • Expertise in utility sized solar and wind projects throughout project lifecycle
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Civil, Environmental, or related field)
  • 5+ years of experience developing projects / project engineering from discovery to start-up
