Project Developer is tasked with identifying greenfield solar projects in the 2-6MW range; position reports into the VP of Sales.
*Partner with sales team to implement market strategies and identify land opportunities for 2-6MW solar generation projects.
*Create relationships with private and public landowner/building owners; negotiate land agreements.
*Conduct project due diligence and feasibility studies; obtain title reports and insurance.
*Analyze regulations, codes and ordinances at local, state and federal level.
*Research state and local incentive markets and identify new and developing markets.
*Research evolving state and local regulatory incentives, mandates, and other issues relevant to solar power projects. Identify new opportunities stemming from such issues.
*Versed in interconnection process and able to manage relationships with appropriate utilities and ISOs.
*Understand interconnection needs and manage the interconnection process with the appropriate utilities and ISOs.
*Partner with multiple internal departments and EPCs to coordinate pre-construction activities.
*BS/BA degree required.
*Minimum of 5 years' experience in project development, project acquisition, land acquisition, or permitting/entitlements.
*Medium to large commercial or small utility-scale solar energy experience strongly preferred (target 2-6MW).
*Ability to work autonomously and remotely.
*Strong negotiation and closing skills.
*Up to 50% travel required.
