Quality Assurance (QA) Manager
£35,000 - £45,000 (DoE) + Benefits
9am - 5pm (with some flexibility required)

My client is a dynamic Food Manufacturer which is currently undergoing rapid growth. The environment is one where a real impact can be made by the right Quality Assurance Manager. The company culture is supportive, collaborative and friendly. They put values and best practice first.

Their customers include the major supermarkets and their manufacturing process is both high-risk and high-care.

Introduction to the Quality Assurance (QA) Manager position:

The ideal Quality Assurance (QA) Manager will have experience of working with the major supermarkets (including M&S), and have worked in a high-care and/or high-risk setting. They will be passionate about food and they will be confident leaders (given the fast pace of the environment, there will be very little hand-holding from above).

A track record of thinking about new initiatives to improve product quality (i.e. innovation in equipment, methods, packaging etc.) would be a distinct advantage.

The successful Quality Assurance (QA) Manager will be responsible for:

* Leading site visits Customer's technical teams
* Attending pre-productions
* Implementing corrections arising from Customer site visits within agreed timescales.
* All aspects of finished product quality
* Managing, training and coaching of the Quality Assurance (QA) team as well as the Raw Material and Ingredient teams
* Ensuring that microbiological and chemical testing is carried out on schedule.
* Initiating effective corrective actions within the factory required by results outside of the Specification
* Leading Quality projects and initiatives as delegated by the Technical Manager

Essential for the successful Quality Assurance (QA) Manager is:

* A track record of leading QA Teams
* Experience of maximising productivity and driving Continuous Improvement
* Have previous experience in a QA Manager role
* Enjoyment of a hands-on, factory-based role

Preferably, the successful Quality Assurance (QA) Manager will also have:

* Experience in a high-care and/or high-risk food production environment
* A Food Science or closely related Degree
