Quantity Surveyor Role

My client is a specialist in High Voltage Engineering and seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their team in London. Since being founded the company prides itself as being one of the market leaders in HV Turnkey Projects,

Role Overview:
The successful Quantity Surveyor will be directly reporting to the General Manager and will be seeking to reduce the cost of projects and add value for money for the client. They will also ensure that the project meets all quality assurance requirements and legal regulations.

*Undertake cost analysis based on engineering estimates, construction drawings, materials and the required labour needed.
*Track the progress and any changes to the projects while adjusting the budget accordingly.
*Advise on legal issues and represent the necessary people during disputes.
*Choose and source materials.
*Formulate cost plans and enable design teams to create practical drawings for projects while communicating with subcontractors and engineers.
*Undertake site visits to make-up changes and negotiate changes.
*Prepare tender documentation, budget sheets and contracts.
*Ensure correct materials are being used.
*Participate in cost negations with sub-contractors allowing the best deal for company and client.
*Keep in constant communication with clients and construction personnel.
*Produce feasibility studies.
*Contract Administration
*Produce reports relating to business and project trends.
*Cost the projects taking into consider station all aspects.
*Technical, Contractual and Cost Due Diligence studies

Role Requirements
*3+ years' experience in similar role
*Experience within the construction industry desirable
*Electrical experience
*Ability to build strong working relationships
*Excellent Analytical and problem-solving skills
*High level of accuracy and attention to detail
*Excellent communication skills Good responsiveness
*Team player
*Persuasiveness / Resistance to internal and external pressure
*Self motivated / Able to work on their own initiative
*Enthusiastic and willing to learn
*Excellent computer skills - proficiency in MS Excel, Word and Powerpoint
