Spencer Ogden are working with a world-leading engineering consultancy for the supply of a Senior C&I Engineer to their experienced Nuclear division. The client are at the forefront of multidisciplinary engineering with services spanning across the whole project life cycle.

Key Responsibilities for the role will include:

* Experience of leading EC&I project design team(s)
* Relevant specification, assessment and justification
* Front End engineering design package generation
* Manage the financial & technical aspects of projects
* Experience of leading multi-disciplinary bid teams
* Project cost, time control and reporting
* Developing C&I capability and growing the business
* Project management skills
* Risk and quality management
* An appreciation of mechanical systems, process and civil engineering and the aptitude work within a multi-disciplinary team.
* Willingness and ability to spend short periods of time on customer and supplier sites at various locations within the UK

We are looking for individuals with the ability to lead, mentor and develop a team, who are capable of growing the EC&I business. Determination and drive to succeed is essential, as is the ability to develop strong networks with our clients and within our organisation.

Minimum Requirements

For this Senior position we would expect:

* Extensive relevant experience and be able to demonstrate sound technical EC&I knowledge and leadership experience
* Qualified to a minimum of HNC level and preferably have a good relevant engineering degree
* Chartered Engineering or on your way to be
* Able to meet UK security clearance requirement

Previous experience will demonstrate:

* Lead / Assist in the production of Bid / Estimates
* Control system design
* Motor control centre and control panel design
* Low Voltage Electrical Distribution Design
* Fault trees, FMEA, HAZOP knowledge
* Building Service design
* Lightning protection
* Safety Instrumented Systems, Programmable Logic Controllers
* Functional Safety standards (e.g. IEC 61508, 61511, 61513)
* Functional Design Specification, Basis of Design & User Requirement Specification production
* Document and Drawing Approval

Preferred Qualifications

Experience of the following areas will be advantageous;

* Experience with fire detection systems
* Working knowledge of BS7671
* Knowledge of Software development for process control
* Security systems equipment
* Communications systems design (Ethernet and field bus communications)
* Experience of commissioning electrical and control systems
* Medium / High Voltage Electrical Distribution Design
