Position: Senior Director of Business Development
The successful candidate will play a leading and active role in the development of prospective greenfield generation projects. The successful candidate needs to have outstanding communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. She or he will need to be self-motivated, and be willing to take initiative to complete project elements on time and on budget, and have a deep understanding of and demonstrated track record in the successful development of large energy projects.
Summary of Responsibilities:
The development role will include origination and execution of new development opportunities including:
oLead commercial and technical team in development of new power projects, including:
oEquipment selection and commercial contract negotiation and completion,
oEPC selection, negotiation and completion,
oFuel supply structuring, including energy index conversion contracts, natural gas supply, transportation and service agreements,
oManage the permitting process,
oRepresent organization in community outreach,
oOverall project management including budget and schedule management,
oCoordinate internal personnel and external consultants on the development team in project execution (including: development, engineering, finance, asset management, and operations teams).
oPlay a leadership role in defining the future development opportunities, including the strategic advantages of technology, environmental considerations, and power markets.
Experience and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering with an advanced degree in a related area preferred.
Minimum of fifteen to twenty years of relevant energy project development experience with a proven track record in successful development of power generating stations.
Strong organizational skills and an ability to meet time commitments on project schedules.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability and interest to work in a multi-cultural team organization.
Strong working knowledge of MS Office products.
