Duties And Responsibilities

  • Coordinating/documenting multiple contractors' and subcontractors' efforts regarding installation and commissioning of the electrical, structural and civil infrastructure in utility scale solar power projects
  • The candidate will inspect, and direct the inspection work of others, the quality of the equipment and installation on site including access roads, grading, fencing, pile foundations, solar modules, low voltage DC wiring, power conversion systems, medium voltage electrical systems, combiner and recombiner box units, underground and overhead power lines, electrical substations, communications, controls, lighting, security and other related systems
  • Commissioning electrical and communications systems will be required prior to the Commercial Operations Date (COD)
  • Performing shop drawing review (as needed)
  • Assisting with running and documenting working meetings
  • Reviewing a daily inspector's report
  • Estimating for field changes (as needed)
  • Assisting the team in developing solutions
  • A successful candidate will be required to work in the field and perform office tasks in a construction trailer (extreme weather and temperatures can be encountered during the project duration)


    • High School Diploma (or equivalent) required. Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred), Civil or Structural engineering
    • 5-10 years of engineering and project management experience on large industrial or utility projects, with 1-2 years of related experience in renewable (solar and/or wind) power generation and transmission or renewable energy power plant construction
    • A thorough working knowledge of electrical power systems
    • A working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and material
    • An ability to read and completely understand contract documents
    • Effective oral and written communication skills
    • Valid Driver's license in the states of Texas OR South Carolina
    • Skilled in Microsoft Office Software Products and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications

  • Solar PV site inspection experience
  • Electrical Inspection Certifications
  • OSHA 10 Hour or 30 Hour
  • Working knowledge of SCADA and Network equipment
