Seeking financial analytical professionals for our asset management/mergers and acquisitions group.This position requires minimal travel.
Analyze the key market components that may impact the value of managed assets
Maintain energy commodity pricing databases across numerous markets, including PJM, ERCOT, NYISO, NE-ISO and CAISO
Develop, maintain, and review complex financial models to support decision making for the existing portfolio of managed assets and future investments
Perform financial analyses, project evaluations, and due diligence to help make recommendations in support of plant optimization, recovery plans and other major projects and capital investment and revenue enhancement proposals
Gather, analyze, prepare, and summarize recommendations for financial plans, acquisition activity, future requirements, and operating forecasts
Work closely with the commercial team, accounting, and various technical teams and advisors to prepare and review detailed forecasts of income statements, cash flows and balance sheets
Identify and remedy variances for senior management
Ensure that all assumptions and modeling are appropriate and reasonable
Take ownership of project deliverables to ensure projects are completed within timing and budgetary parameters
Assist in the evaluation of a variety of strategic business and financial decisions and preparation of recommendations for management
Undertake ad-hoc projects and create reports as needed
Conduct economic research as required with respect to power and natural gas energy markets
Prepare board-quality presentations and documentation
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or closely related field. MBA or CFA preferred.
3 or more years of experience with energy sector financial modeling
Strong quantitative and modeling skills with a finance or statistical background needed
Detail oriented with ability to analyze financial data and prepare reports and presentations for management
Knowledge of both GAAP principles and energy market pricing fundamentals
Proficient with Microsoft Office programs
Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in an open office team setting and matrix organization
Aggressive self-starter with proven experience demonstrating ability to perform in high pressure, dynamic and fast paced environments
Salary commensurate with experience
