Spencer Ogden is recruiting for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer.

This is an oppurtunity to work for a industry leading renewbale energy consultancy with decades of expertise in the industry. 

As the Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will be directly working offshore wind projects and provide geotechnical input in the design and consultancy work in the Team. You will also have the opportunity for personal development in a range of fields

You will work with dynamic and vibrant colleagues spread across a range of disciplines including seismic engineering, structural engineering, nautical engineering, and maritime engineering to deliver a wide range of services We are looking to build our offshore capability to support a growing portfolio of projects related to the energy transition, including wind, CCUS/hydrogen and interconnectors

The key requirements are:

Geotechnical design/survey/installation works for projects involving foundations and subsea structures

Team leader/PM on monopile design for OWT foundations, working together and jointly with the structural and geotechnical teams.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Experience with geotechnical/geophysical data and geotechnical interpretative reports (GIR). Experience managing geological/geotechnical ground models is an advantage
  • Leading the work packages of geotechnical engineering on offshore wind project portfolio - from feasibility through to detailed design with diverse tasks such as geo survey specification, geotechnical interpretation and assistance in certification
  • Providing technical input on project deliverables related to geotechnical subject for OWF
  • Assisting/leading working groups for developing new geotechnical engineering delivery digital tools
  • Developing new technique / technology in geotechnical engineering related subjects.
  • Offshore foundation design experience (monopile, Jacket, GBS) and load iteration analysis
  • Support on issues related with cable burial and OWF construction
  • Knowledge on construction and installation methods of OWT/platform
  • Good understanding of advanced laboratory tests specification (e.g. Cyclic TX/Cyclic DSS, ring shear, resonant column tests)
  • Occasional work as offshore vessel representative as required (less than 4 months per year)
  • Support in proposals to secure additional geotechnical works

Competencies & Soft Skills:

  • (Essential) Piled foundation design experience is preferable, including familiarity with state-of-the art 3D FE design methods (PISA or equivalent)
  • (Essential) Advanced level of understanding of geotechnical issues for OWF

Qualifications/Experience:

Structural/Geotechnical/Civil Engineering Degree, preferably with MSc or PhD in Geotechnical Engineering

Chartered Member of ICE is preferable. Also accepted if currently working towards similar schemes

Worked on offshore wind development projects with input for geotechnical engineering in one or more of the foundation types such as Monopile, jacket, Suction base, or GBS

My Client is resourcing for a Solar Engineer, this is an extremely exciting opportunity to join a world leading company with an established and expert team. Projects are predominately located throughout the UK and Ireland. In this role you will act as Lead Solar Engineer in which you will take, Ownership of all generic technical documents relating to mechanical and electrical design. Work with the technical team, suppliers and sub-contractors in the development and delivery of technical solutions. Main duties of the role:  Executing Utility Scale Solar projects,   Energy yield and resource assessments   Site layouts and optimisation, concept design and feasibility studies,   Technical due diligence for Merger and Acquisition (M&A) transactions   Lender’s Technical Advisor (LTA) scopes of work   Owner’s Engineering support, design reviews and site visits construction monitoring and witnessing of commissioning and testing   Project management  The role has a fantastic salary, bonus and benefits package. This is a great opportunity to work for a global leading solar team, being at the forefront of renewable energy transition.
