Job Title: Senior Hardware Engineer
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 p.a + excellent benefits (14% pension, bonus, private health etc)

A vacancy has arisen for a Senior Hardware Engineer to join one of the few truly pioneering Space companies in the UK. You will be responsible for the development of Digital Processors for use in telecommunication Satellites; from high capacity supporting inter-satellite optical data links to implementing cryptographic algorithms to protect the spacecraft itself. You can guarantee that this role will be truly varied and challenging.

Responsibilities for the position of Senior Hardware Engineer

*Technical responsibility for all processor equipment, starting from the customer specification through to delivered hardware
*Perform component selection, simulations, analysis and schematic capture
*Work closely with ASIC / FPGA designers and directing PCB layout engineers
*Support customer reviews
*Co-ordinate analyses alongside industry experts in areas such as thermal, mechanical and radiation
*Experience of the complete hardware design cycle, from requirements capture, through schematic design, constraints capture, design analyses to hands-on support to manufacture and test.

Requirements for the position of Senior Hardware Engineer

*Strong knowledge of Electronic circuit design - both digital and analogue, testing of prototype designs at board and unit level
*Must have a safety critical background
*Be able to design "High Speed" hardware - with the ability to test to the picosecond
*Knowledge of ADC, DAC
*Knowledge of mixed signal and RF design (desirable)
*An understanding of power supply design (desirable)
*An understanding of FPGA / ASIC design (Xilinx, Microsemi) (desirable)
