Our environmental team is driven by highly qualified and enthusiastic engineers, environmental scientists, hydrologists, ecologists and town planners.

With a strong multidisciplinary team approach to project delivery across the company, we maintain a full and varied project load that includes some of the most exciting infrastructure projects currently being undertaken in Ireland and the UK.

Current projects include:

Responsibilities

  • Preparing Hydrogeological Impact Assessments on the likely impacts of proposed projects across a range of markets, including water, transport, waste, energy and land use
  • Scoping and coordinating, supervising and interpretation of site investigations including contaminated land investigations
  • Project managing investigations in accordance with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Code of Practice
  • Groundwater modelling and risk assessment
  • Scoping, preparing and delivering contaminated land assessment projects and remediation proposals
  • Presentation of expert witness at Oral Hearing
  • Managing resourcing and budgeting on projects, including billing of clients
  • Business development and reporting to senior management and directors
  • Managing and mentoring junior staff

Essential

  • BEng, MSc or PhD in hydrogeology/hydrology or related subject
  • PGeo EurGeol (IGI) or CGeol (Geological Society of London)
  • A minimum of five years' employment experience preferably in environmental consultancy
  • A broad range of previous relevant work experience in a professional consultancy or relevant NGO, academic setting or similar
  • Excellent field skills with site investigation expertise, including in the collection of groundwater and soil/waste samples
  • Knowledge of relevant Irish and European legislation
  • Experience in compiling Environmental Risk Assessment reports on the likely impacts of proposed developments and recommending appropriate mitigation measures, such as addressing hydrological and hydrogeological interactions and interdependencies
  • Experience of quantitative risk assessments, including the use of conceptual site models
  • Experience in redevelopment of brownfield sites and remediation of contaminated sites
  • Excellent report writing skills and Geographic Information System (GIS) experience
  • Fluent or highly proficient in written and spoken English
  • Ability to manage a varied workload
  • Full, clean driving licence
