Job Summary

The position of Senior Lighting Designer includes supervising staff,managing projects, developing lighting design concepts and working with clients, with the goal of producing high quality architectural lighting designs for the built environment. Working with management, junior design staff, architects and engineers, the Senior Lighting Designer will produce appropriate designs through the use of creativity, required research and collaboration with clients and co-workers and through direct observation of the effects of light on the world around them.

All team members are expected to participate in the firm's marketing and business development efforts. This includes, but is not limited to attending networking and client events, appearing in firm marketing materials, website, and social media content.

Position will entail confidential access to information and methods considered to be trade secrets and proprietary to the firm and/or the firm's clients, as well as information that is confidential to the management of the firm which is generally not accessible to other staff members.

Summary of essential job functions
- Oversee projects on a day-to-day basis, including supervising staff and client communications.
- Production work, including (but not limited to) calculations, drawings, renderings and specifications
- Attend client meetings with Firm Principal and alone
- Lighting Concept Development
- Direct Client Contact
- Travel to project meetings and project sites (domestic and international)
- Other tasks as may be required

Minimum requirements
Four to six years of experience in Lighting Design
Client contact and Project Management Experience
College Degree in a related field

Abilities required
Excellent technical skills, including Autocad, Revit, AGI32, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
Ability to create presentation materials in Photoshop, 3D Studio Max or other rendering programs
Experience in LEED or a firm understanding of the LEED certification process
At least one professional credential, such as LEED AP or LC
Strong verbal and written English communication skills, including the ability to express lighting concepts
Interpersonal communication skills

Continuing Education
