Role and Responsibilities
*Act as the primary customer-facing program manager for an extremely large electric and gas utility
*Skilled at negotiating with customers, understanding contractual responsibilities and delivering to contractual requirements
*Strong customer relationship management experience, including executive levels
*Creative problem solving of internal and customer issues
*Ability to track project costs and manage financial responsibility of projects to guarantee on-budget delivery
*Understand multiple products and have the ability to coordinate and manage projects for multiple product solutions at once.
*Ability to manage program level engagements and provide direction to project staff including Project Managers, IT staff, subcontractors and Analysts
*Provide direction and coordination across internal delivery teams (product management, engineering, QA, etc.) to provide delivery to customer
*Provide thought leadership towards the delivery of technical solutions with the most critical and demanding customers - this includes providing alternative delivery approaches to resolve customer complaints, issues, and/or for risk mitigation
*Work closely with customers and the implementation teams to deliver successful on-time implementations
*Provide a consolidated delivery across multiple customer implementations by ensuring consistency among deliverables, communication and approach
*Provide oversight, training, mentoring and guidance to other Project Managers in the organization to further their knowledge and abilities
*Thoroughly understand delivery contracts and provide representation internally and to the customer
*Coordinate communication between customer and internal resources to facilitate shared expectations at all levels, including the Executive level and the field staff level.
*Compile and review project deliverables
*Create weekly status reports identifying consolidated project issues, risks and status
*Create coordinated delivery schedule
*Manage customer interactions and ensure satisfaction while minimizing project risk.
*Manage implementation schedules to ensure on-time delivery.
*Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred. In lieu of a degree, at least 10 years of experience will be considered, specifically in major account project management
*7 - 10 years of directly relevant experience managing the implementation of complex software or hardware technical solutions.
*Minimum of 4 years Energy industry experience is required; Smart Grid experience highly preferred
*Experience implementing data-intensive software systems in an enterprise environment
*Big 4 or other major consulting firm experience is a plus
*Client facing experience and relationship-building skills a must
*Demonstrated verbal, written, presentation skills and strong analytical skills
*Certifications: PMI's Project Management Professional (PMP) or the ability to obtain certification within 6 months
