A multi-billion dollar diversified global Tier 1 Automotive manufacturer and worldwide leader in the design, manufacture and support of clamping, gripping and transferring solutions for workplace and flexible automation needs, with operating segments such as Energy, Fluids and refrigeration, food equipment and Engineered Systems.
The Project Engineer is responsible for providing guidance for the planning, design, manufacture and installation of products within the organization.
Communicate with customers and vendors and build and design teams to review scope, conduct design reviews, prepare for release and provide training and technical support.
Communicate with engineering, manufacturing and customer service to schedule program kick-off, communicate customer priorities, schedule orders and track fulfilment.
Work within and communicate across various functional teams that will enable the successful development, delivery, and support of product changes and special projects.
This position requires the ability to work and communicate globally and virtually with customers, vendors, sub-contractors, product managers, applications engineering, marketing, manufacturing and working in teams worldwide.
Key Job Responsibilities included but not limited to:
Promotes safety awareness with other members of the organization

Ensures employees have an understanding of the safety expectations of the organization
Manages assigned projects to completion including control of the process from quotation to final acceptance, sign off, and complete payment.
Communicates with customers, vendors, suppliers, sub-contractors, and across various levels of the organization to communicate project scope and timeline.
Creates "Standard Work" packages to reduce waste for Design and Build projects
Conducts and leads customer design reviews and recommends solutions using standard components.
Ensures commonality for the end user across all design sources
Maintains communication with manufacturing, communicating current engineering packages including BOMs, layouts, and CAD data, and scheduling, leading program kick-off.
Determines delivery schedule, tracks order fulfilment and system build progress
Works directly with customer service on all purchase orders, price and due dates
Works with Supply Chain staff to schedule purchased and components orders
Communicates with customers, vendors and subcontractors to facilitate and resolve project issues.
Generates Margin reports and reports to Sales and Management project results upon completion.

Requires 5 years of experience in Project Engineering and Project Management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Requires Solidworks design experience
Experience with robotic assembly automation, design, and applications
Experience with manufacturing drawings, assemblies, and design practices.
Experience working with a project management methodology including budget development, project tracking, planning, control, project management software, finance and accounting concepts and practices.
Experience with Microsoft Products, including MS Project
Experience in press room tooling a plus
Experience in all major CAD platforms a plus

Ability to manage multiple projects, assist with scheduling and track items to completion

Education and Certification Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field
Ability to travel 25% of the time internationally
