Job Summary:This position has single point accountability for the projects they are executing. They will be under the general direction of a Sr. Project Manager. This position is responsible for the management of all phases of project planning and execution to ensure all project success factors are met, including but not limited to scope, schedule, cost, quality, environmental, safety, communications, security, and integration. In addition, this position is highly involved in the funding management and budgeting of the project / program responsible. This position will work directly with a full project team on a daily basis that includes Project Controls, Construction Management, Engineering, Real Estate, Environmental, Permitting & Community/Public Engagement to name a few. This position typically will be assigned projects classified as "Green " per the Project Management Center of Excellence Project Profile Matrix. Green projects typically range from $50 to $250M with a moderate to high level of complexity. These projects typically involve complex but mature technology, moderate scope complexity, and stakeholders that include facility and department level personnel in addition to Senior Management, and possibly the Board of Directors and External Agencies. The PM serves as the unifying agent providing leadership, management, direction, coordination, and control of the overall project in accordance with the established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements. Responsibilities and Duties: Describe the major responsibilities and significant job duties required to successfully perform each responsibility. Indicate the approximate percentage of time spent on each responsibility during the year by order of overall importance or impact. 25% Establish and maintain communications among all project/programs stakeholders. Structure, lead, and/or assist in leading all project related meetings and reports required to ensure open communication between all team members, key stakeholders, and management (regular project reviews, kickoff meetings, weekly reports & monthly reports) and to properly report project status. Assure that Project Plan, all appropriate reports and reporting means are developed and managed according to PMCoE Standards. Coordination with the various internal and external organizations that are providing services to the project (development, engineering, project controls, estimating, construction management, supply chain, legal, EHS, QA/QC, operations, communications, regulatory, security, fuels, transmission, etc.). The PM manages all matrixed members of the team on a daily basis and is responsible for assuring all project deliverables (KPIs) are being met. 40% Plan the project (s) assigned to, including scope, schedule, cost, safety, and quality aspect of the project. Drive the process of project planning including scope definition, estimating, schedule formation and monitoring, cost control measures, procurement/contracting strategies, equipment selection, vendor selection, start-up and commissioning plans, and integration processes. This includes project planning and execution activities like scope definition, detailed design, construction, start-up and commissioning, turnover to operations, and warranty management. 25% Execute projects according to Plan within designed scope, cost and schedule limits. Includes objectives, stakeholders, scope, roles and responsibilities, assumptions and constraints, deliverables, WBS, schedule, external communication, regulatory strategy, procurement strategy, contractor and supplier strategy, resource plan, budget, lessons learned, risk plan, quality plan, safety plan, environmental plan, security plan, integration plan, data management plan, communications and reporting plan, change management, and project close out. 10% Effective Presentation Skills. Job Description:My client is a dynamic Renewable Energy Solutions Provider operating across North America, delivering predictably priced renewable electricity services for commercial, municipal, and utility customers. My client specializes in navigating a complex ecosystem of regulatory and economic markets to find the highest value for its customers by being first movers and innovative solutions providers. From highly visible solar canopies at schools to large scale ground-mounted applications, the team of industry leaders at my client designs specific financial and technical solutions for each customer to maximize the impact of their renewable energy projects.Summary of Functions:The Development Project Manager will manage projects, consultants, and engineers while ensuring minimum gross profit margins are attained, annual MW targets are achieved, and project cycle times are maintained for specific portfolios of solar photovoltaic projects developed by my client. This position reports to the Senior Project Manager overseeing development in the assigned region.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:• Develop solar projects while simultaneously supporting land development efforts, conditional permitting, interconnection, and offtake timelines.• Support organizational initiatives and reporting as needed.• Support origination efforts, ensuring that project bids are both competitive and feasible.• Create full project development schedules and high-level construction and interconnection schedules to establish reasonable and achievable construction start and commercial operation dates.• Manage the development schedule and budget to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion.• Manage portfolios of projects with an eye to project metrics, implementing streamlined processes for large volume and to ensure shorter cycle times.• Work with internal teams to ensure successful project construction and closing, communicating regularly with legal, engineering, and project finance colleagues.• Engage external consultants as needed for land development and permitting expertise.• Work with state, county and local governments, community groups, and neighbors.• Manage and solve all required real estate issues, negotiating easements, mineral rights, access agreements, and other applicable title and curative work necessary to achieve full site control.• Manage and message project risks and mitigants to the Executive Team.• Bring projects to the internal “Notice to Proceed” stage gate approval (or prepare for sale at NTP to project company buyer) in a timely manner to maintain construction start dates.• Following the Notice to Proceed stage gate, monitor and provide direction to EPC partners from the construction phase through commercial operation and financial closing.• Respond to investor and/or 3rd party finance questions to ensure timely financial closing.• Manage customer, off-taker, and stakeholder relationships by keeping them informed on project progress and complying with associated agreements.• Review RFP, ESA, and/or other energy off-take agreements and site licensing documents and support due diligence and negotiation efforts.• Coordinate ESA amendments, estoppel certificates, consents, and any other project finance or legal documents requiring energy off-taker execution.Qualifications:My client is looking for highly motivated individuals who want to be part of a fast-paced and fluid company poised for growth in one of the country’s most rapidly changing industries. Long hours will be needed from time to time as dictated by reporting and other deadlines. Produce detailed drawings, plan sets, and volume calculations for various disciplines, including landfills.Maintain constant communication with Project Managers and Senior Engineers regarding project work and designs.Listen attentively and understand inquiries, providing optimal solutions for implementation.Assist in design tasks for all production assignments, conducting research to solve design problems and collaborating with other resources to streamline processes.Develop design concepts and generate project design deliverables based on sketches, written and/or verbal instructions.Exercise judgment and make decisions regarding deliverables and interpretation of input.Ensure that design concepts and deliverables are comprehensive, meeting company or client requirements, applicable codes, and standards.Revise project drawings based on feedback from the Project Manager and/or Engineer.Establish and manage electronic document file structure and naming conventions in accordance with company or client standards.Collaborate closely with Project Managers and Engineers to establish and manage contract and construction drawings.Create and modify base drawings for use in various documents.Work efficiently as a productive team member and proficient AutoCAD user, handling a typical set of project documents from start to finish with professional quality output that adheres to company and client standards.Manage multiple projects simultaneously in different locations and states.Adhere to CAD standards.Conduct a final review of drawings to ensure completeness, clarity, and accuracy.Prepare technical reports, such as operating plans, CQA reports, and permit applications.Analyze technical data using tools like Excel.Apply logic and creativity in resolving design issues.Effectively communicate with colleagues and superiors.Utilize computer-aided design (AutoCAD) software to design landfill projects.Perform construction observation and document findings.
