This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for an aspiring Senior Software Quality Engineer to obtain transatlantic management experience for a global player in the Aerospace industry.

You will be tasked with defining Quality processes in accordance with DO-178C and AS9100 for the companies UK and USA Software hubs.

My client has plans to double the size of the current software team over the next 24 months and you will be an integral part of recruiting both permanent and contract quality staff. Once hired you will be their direct line manager; reporting yourself to the Global VP of Software.


*Conduct software quality audits to ensure compliance with the necessary standards and project plans
*Recruit and lead quality staff to meet both the current and future demands of projects
*Produce and implement software QA plans to customer requirements
*Influence software suppliers to make sure that they keep up with their quality processes
*Take the lead with the departments quality management system, accessing, managing and implementing changes where necessary
*Liaise with regulatory bodies and customers for quality audits, testing and conformity
*Identify continuous improvement opportunities
*Support other areas of the business with your quality knowledge, be a best practice champion
*Occasional travel to suppliers, customers and other software hubs

Key skills

*Degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science or Electronics Engineering
*Experience of performing software quality audits for safety critical applications, ideally Aerospace
*Experience of using Aerospace standards for software development - DO-178/ED-12 for FAA or EASA customers
*Experience of designing and maintaining quality management systems compliant with AS9100
*Familiarity with the engineering processes required to complete verification and validation activities
*Quantifiable experience of delivering cost effective improvements to projects using Lean or Six Sigma techniques
