As an Offshore Foundation Structural Assessment Senior Engineer F/M you will be involved in delivering multi-level ongoing projects in the offshore wind whilst looking at the wider renewable energy business in general, contributing and developing broader technical solutions for business.

You'll be part of an enthusiastic and committed team of Engineers and Technicians to deliver high-quality output on projects. Client care and repeat business are crucial to success. This means you enjoy developing and nurturing relationships with clients.

You will have a good understanding of the technical engineering requirements of offshore wind turbine structures. As an Offshore foundation structural assessment senior engineer, you will be Performing structural calculations mainly using the finite element calculation method (FEA) to include:

  • Analysis of Structural Models
  • Monitoring calculations and detailed drawings
  • Selection of load cases (environmental conditions, a turbine in production/shutdown, etc.)
  • Post-processing of extreme loads and fatigue
  • Analysis of the results and recommendations on the design
  • Data flow management
  • Ensuring technical compliance with the relevant regulations and client specifications
  • Completion and delivery of high-quality technical reports.

and you will carry out the dimensioning of structures:

  • In the pre-design, design, basic, and detailed engineering phases (typically offshore jacket/monopile wind turbine foundation).
  • Analysis of structural designs and gradually develop expertise in a wide range of offshore structures including static & dynamic analysis, fatigue analysis, impact analysis, fracture mechanics, Finite Element Analysis, wave dynamics, seismic design, engineering materials, etc.

The role is based in Nantes, France, and the incumbent will have the right to work and reside in France.

In this hybrid role, you will have a defined work location that includes remote work from home, in the office, and offshore/on-site as agreed with your manager.

Flexibility to working hours and willing travel locally and internationally may be required occasionally.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a determined, results, and client-oriented professional with a supportive and global mindset, and excellent interpersonal skills. The successful candidate should be passionate about innovation, and progress and enjoys working in a dynamic and multicultural environment both independently and as part of a team. In addition, you:

  • Hold a Master's degree (or equivalent):
  • structural mechanics and/or solid mechanics.
  • Have at least 3 years of experience in the offshore field (Wind or Oil & Gas) in the dimensioning of offshore foundation structures, mainly of the jacket or monopile type.
  • Will have Knowledge of mechanical characteristics of metal/concrete/composite materials (RDM).
  • Have an in-depth understanding of at least 1 of the following: ANSYS / SACS / ABAQUS / SESAM.
  • Knowledge and/or practice of standards such as DNV-GL, IEC, API, AISC, and Eurocodes.
  • Are fully proficient in English, and French is an advantage.
  • Practice in code checking, yielding, buckling, and fatigue, in ULS, FLS, and ALS conditions could be an additional advantage.
