Senior Structural Engineer - Auckland

Our track record in heavy civils throughout New Zealand and the Pacific covers a diverse range of projects, including ground retention design for major transportation projects, the design of hydraulic and marine structures, structural inputs to award-winning urban design projects, and condition / damage assessment of existing structures.

Current projects include a wide variety of technical work across several sectors, including all aspects of landfill design and operation, earthworks engineering, contract management, 3-waters infrastructure design, sustainable urban stormwater design, coastal infrastructure, roads and rail. You will get to work with excellent clients and our multi-disciplinary team of engineers, scientists, and planners through the whole life of a project - from concept design and consenting right through to tendering and construction - you will get to see your designs get built, and you'll have opportunity to get experience in all the stages of the project.

About you:

  • Relevant BEng or MEng qualification in Civil Engineering
  • Chartered Civil Engineer (CPEng or overseas equivalent)
  • 15+ years' diverse experience in civil design, with an emphasis on civil structures
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Emphasis on simple robust solutions to complex issues
  • Project management
  • Client relationship management
  • Experience in a consulting environment at a senior level
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Proven ability to deliver a quality product on time
  • Strong delegation skills with the ability to coach and support junior engineers.

You can look forward to working on a wide range of exciting projects that involve all aspects of civil design. You will be responsible for the delivery of projects in respect to quality, programme and budgets. This will include interfacing and co-ordinating outcomes from related disciplines such as geology, hydrogeology, geotechnical engineering and contaminated land together with assisting client relationship building.
