We are seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil or transportation engineering from an ABET accredited program and a Professional Engineer (PE) registration in the State of Oregon or the ability to obtain it through reciprocity. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 10 years of experience in traffic studies or traffic design, be proficient in MS Office and traffic software such as AutoCAD or Microstation, and have experience with traffic engineering analysis software such as HCS, Synchro, Rodel, TransModeler, or VISSIM.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead transportation and roadway design projects in our Portland office
  • Contribute to the development of transportation marketing strategy
  • Maintain quality control of work product and successfully complete projects on time and within budget
  • Collaborate on project pursuits and technical challenges
  • Lead design and monitor task performance indicators, budgets, schedules, and contribute to management of risk
  • Coach junior level staff and collaborate with PE's across the firm

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited civil or transportation engineering program
  • PE registration in the State of Oregon, or ability to be registered with reciprocity
  • 10+ years of related roadway design and project management experience, knowledge of ODOT standards is a plus
  • Experience leading design tasks or serving as roadway design lead. Relationships with ODOT and local agencies a plus
  • Prior proposal development and client relationship management experience is desirable
  • Proficient in MS Office and traffic software such as Microstation and/or AutoCAD
  • Experience with Bentley OpenRoads/Civil 3D a plus
  • Great communication and team leadership skills
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, including the capability to learn virtual collaboration tools
